GREENFIELD – In a unanimous vote, the Greenfield-Central School Board approved a plan to shift fourth-grade students back to the district’s four elementary schools beginning in the 2025-2026 school year. Superintendent Harold Olin (right) addresses the board and the large number of people attending the April 14th meeting. This change reverses a previous decision from 2010 that placed fourth graders in intermediate schools to alleviate overcrowding in the lower grades. The decision affects hundreds of local families and means that the intermediate schools will now only serve fifth and sixth graders. © Cary Benbow
